Re: The Bubble Dress
July 1, 2009 by username
On the surface, one could think that one would associate KY with music as the
principle means or mode of expression. Yet, after reading this, can one assume
safely that the visual takes on an equally important role?
A marriage of the Apollonian and Dionysian concepts that that F. N. guy put forth
is manifesting itself? "German" blood or modern conduit?
I wonder though if the dress(or rather Kristeen) represents a celestial body around
which all the poor bubbles burst by the lies of men now find solace; a sort of bubble heaven.
Or is the dress more of a "soft armour" protecting the wearer from manly verbal
deception?

Hold on to them and let the "creative intrest" accumulate; cash in and create when the time hits you! Windfall coming?
My lazy ass is jealous that you and chrissy, amongst others, have been so KY creative.

Maybe it's almost sadly cute:
-"gag(a)"; like a small retarded child who mimics the "image" of an adult on the road to self actualization.

Well, if you haven't looked it up; Constantine converts to Christianity before the battle
at the Milvian Bridge. This "Christianity" later becomes the basis for the Catholic church.
Also, the vision contains the Chi-Rho symbol which was to adorn the shields of his soldiers; makes me think of the KY diamond glyph on pins(mini shields[?]) given away at shows.
A KY giving up her pagan ways(God"s") before launching her world-conquering campaign: the album and tour...
Just fun association...
Earlier, I remember reading some reviewer's comments saying that he felt that the use of a lap-top would date the cover. This made me think that the use of it was supposed to symbolize a modern trinket/weapon(smallpox really isn't so effective these days...); the robed figure making think of a missionary or such.
But now, it must be that it is "Ignorance" self-educating itself.
Or maybe not.
Now the back cover: http://www.metropicturesgallery.com/index.php?mode=past&object_id=2
scroll to # 8: Untitled 415

I have always thought the album cover of "The Orphans" represented them as the orphans Ignorance and Want benieth the robes of the Ghost of Christmas Present.

WHOAH. Wow. I never did get why that bi-sickle guy asked her 'bout her love for Dickens...
I'm dumb as fuck.
The song Protestant kinda made me think that the composition was maybe possibly slightly based on The Dream of Constantine...
Oh well!
Thank you.

By the way, this is awesome. I loved reading it; even the third time around. -Real stream of Chrissy-ness flow. If, if only, you had added an illustration...
-Onto KY:
Could that tour have been code-named the baby-bloo-tank-top-tour?
She looked smokin'. A gift from KYk? Word.
I like how in some photos her earpiece looks like a hearing-aid.
Also, it appears that a set would start with coat and glasses present, then later, gone.
Does that make her kinda a stripper?
If we are viewing, in whatever capacity; we= odd on-lookers?
Who's the hooker?
Quick question: KY a vegetarian?
I was wondering if she was a fan of Hot Dogs and Sushi in her younger days...

Ya know, I was sitting there for quite some time mulling over KY lines in my head looking for basketball references.
Senility.
Luckily, suddenly the snippet "we are the world" popped into my mind's ear...
(That was KY's voice, by the way, that I had heard...)

For me, it's the one that captures, really, how the future(our present) never lived up to the "promises"(was it only teasing?) shown as being possible via the super-charging motivational and inspiring flow of music...
Bah.
If I may now segue: I am wondering if This Is The Dawn Of My D-Day is extolling the beauty of escapism via fucking? If so, -I've had enough. it's not enough. get me off!- is one of the best double entendres eva!!
Now I'm gonna meander: I learned a new word: symmetria. Essentially, this is a perfect balance achieved through disbalance, or opposites/opposing elements.
KRISTEENYOUNG, for me, epitomizes an audio/visual example of this: female/male, electronic/non-electronic, standing/seated, vocal/silent, ka-blah-blah-blah...
Oh, the tape on the hand? Lodger? Since it's on her left hand... Or maybe like a boxer?

Is this like one-hundred random survivors? Or were they chosen by something like a lottery? Perhaps having posted in the last sixty days on this site will qualify one?! Is the future already written?
