I can't help but go to a mean, paranoid place whenever I think of the cutoff at the end -did someone enjoy doing that? the previous program was allowed to run over and finish!- even though honestly it was probably just incompetence or, at worst, a slightly hard-assed call on the part of the person running the technology. Bah.
I'm looking forward to hearing the interview again, though. And I'm so glad to have these tracks. It was a really good interview; there were awkward questions aplenty, but KY sounded pretty comfortable with the DJ, and it did what you always want an interview to do: gave the person a chance to chat and be human and let listeners into their life a little, without the interviewer becoming convinced he's Woodward and f'n Bernstein. It reminded me of Russell Brand's interviews with Morrissey, where M actually lets his guard down and tells some stories without worrying that someone's going to ask him if the Smiths are gonna get back together.
And the tracks are -for one thing- a decently long live set for once, and great, passionate, live alternate takes on the songs. The whole show would be a great introduction to KY and I hope there were some people listening who didn't know her, maybe who weren't of age during her time in STL.
Thanks thestsp
She always nails HALFWAY ACROSS THE ATLANTIC---that song gets better with every listen.
