Depression Contest, Comfort Is Never A Goal, Stop Thinking, Everybody Wants Me To Cry and He's Sickened By My Crude Emotion.

DepCo and StoThi have zero plays, so I suspect they have been replaced with modified versions.

I love the new "Depression Contest." Those overdubs over the "you can try!" parts are very reminiscent of her piano playing in the unusual notes they combine.

This Pointing this out exposes my lack of formal musical knowledge, because if I had to explain why I like it, I'd (partly) say that it's slightly discordant, and beautiful, and it's unexpected to hear something that is both. But I don't know if that's because the notes are discordant, or because they violate some implicit rule in terms of how they're placed before and after other chords, or if they actually are a chord that Formal Music Law would recognize, but I just don't know because they are not commonly used in the kind of music I listen to.

Anyway, the overdubs do something I would not expect; my ears are pleased, but they can't register the sound as "normal," so I guess whatever you'd call it, it succeeds by me.

btw, there's some wackiness with the player. I know the tracks are meant to cut out at 1:30 or so, cos they're previews and such, but they tend to boot you to the next track if they play through to where your buffering stops. So don't take that lying down.

DepCo (cute Rach)  - she's got 4- layered harmony salad in some places and it's yummy.

Have a ever heard Comfort is not a Goal before?  I must not have, I haven't heard it like  this.  Oooooooo I like it!   I thought I had heard this, but I have not.  I LOVE it.  Rockin.

"Everyone Wants me to Cry"  seems a little faster paced than the way I've heard it played before.  It sounds less minimalized, like a little more layered, more produced but not in a bad way, it just sounds richer.   Piano is turned up.  Vocals are turned up and crisper.  Bluesy, more piano - or least I can hear it now.  My favorite.

He's Sickened  I love this also -  it's just MORE, fuller,  Piano sounds fucking awesome - like she may be on a real bitchin piano.  "Bitchin Piano! Bitchin Piano!"  you can hear her better, lyrics are clearer and the piano is louder too, turned the drums down to display her voice as the centerpiece/masterpiece.

EXCELLENT - this album is going to do WELLLLL.  It's definitely more done.  And we'll have it in about 10 days bitches!!!  Yayayaayah!

I love the changes in Stop Thinking. This has to be my favorite song to blast into my ears. And Crude Emotion! Dear god. I love it. We almost have the album!!!!!

They all give me a warm glow directly into the brain. KYK puts it better than I could.

Am I seriously twisted? Why can't I hear changes in Stop Thinking? I do think it sounds "better" but I have no idea why.

Oh, in Stop Thinking I think it was just the addition of more prominent deeper vocals during the "Dear, you know I.." part.

I am VERY excited for this new album. Those new tracks are amazing!

Plus I'll be glad to have studio versions and do away with these darn (thoguh very much appreciated) live recordings.

Yeah...I love how "Cry" and "Crude Emotion" have the voice so crisp and loud. Somehow the sound manages to be both very naked and with the perfect studio touches (those little flurries of harmony are lovely and unify the tracks well).
