By the way, this is awesome. I loved reading it; even the third time around. -Real stream of Chrissy-ness flow. If, if only, you had added an illustration...
-Onto KY:
Could that tour have been code-named the baby-bloo-tank-top-tour?
She looked smokin'. A gift from KYk? Word.
I like how in some photos her earpiece looks like a hearing-aid.
Also, it appears that a set would start with coat and glasses present, then later, gone.
Does that make her kinda a stripper?
If we are viewing, in whatever capacity; we= odd on-lookers?
Who's the hooker?
Quick question: KY a vegetarian?
I was wondering if she was a fan of Hot Dogs and Sushi in her younger days...
Oh thanks! I wondered if she were a vegetarian as well.
Well spotted username - I mean, I assumed it was a happy coincidence (cold in the venue, warm up when performing) but after all, it's not like she hasn't demonstrated herself to be pretty immune to cold when it comes to stagewear before, so I could definitely see it being at thing.
I also noted the ear monitor/hearing aid - gave me a double take. I thought she was doing a little bit with M imagery on a whole during that little tour, along with other shout-outs (and probably concessions to practicality). Certainly the idea of KY adopting that stuff is fascinating in a non-directly-metaphorical but obs. meaningful way.
I like the title of the new album partly because it looks so directly at those watching. You are a stripper, a prostitute or a voyeur, or you're not even present.
What if you are physically present but out to lunch otherwise?
I thought the ear piece was a monitor. Lords know she has had enough monitor problems in the past, maybe the ear-piece helps. Or maybe it was just a prop.
And the Detroit show, didn't she have a oversized flannel shirt, baggy jeans, docs and a combover? Similar to what that M guy wears. More subtle imagery? A jab at the fuddy duddy?
Stripper: Maybe it would be funny if she'd throw her shirt out and let us fight over it.
"What if you are physically present but out to lunch otherwise?"
Then you're me 99% of the time. Irrelevant to your point, but true.
Meanwhile: I love the idea of Morrissey as stripper, which of course he is now that I think about it.
Maybe hooker is just a big reference to the fact that she is a band... selling herself, so to speak.
Oh, that's a good point! Of course, they are so far from that though. I mean she may go through some self-confliction (is that a word, sorry grammar nazi's) , walking the line with that stuff, but we all know they are a far cry from sell-outs. They are authentic, and that's a big part of the appeal for me.
P.S. Oh, and I like playing with the new fonts, too. ![]()
I didn't mean they were sell-outs. I meant the way she is so personal in her songwriting and such; it's like a bit of herself on the album.
Oh I know! I didn't think that you were saying that at all. It's hard to relay what I want in e-mail sometimes!
Hey PX, I hope I didn't offend you. Sorry, if I did.
Oh, you didn't KYk! I was just like... THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT.
PS. I think out of all the bands I've been obsessed with, this is definitely the best forum. Probably because there are only like 20 of us. It's nice to to have people saying OFF TOPIC everytime a tangent is started. =)
You do like your smilies, don't you, KYk?
