Can anyone please post the lyrics to Protestant? I listen to the song over and over but only understand bits and pieces. Wonderful song by the way.

This is my favorite and I'd love some lyrics, too! I think we'll have to wing it ourselves and turn it into a fill-in-the-blank type game. Unless KY owes someone a favor and will hand over the right lyrics (I can't take singing the wrong words anymore)..

I'll start

I always wanted to be a catholic
but ______?________ a protestant
_____?______ the right words I should pray
_______?_______ to not have to decide what to wear everyday

but I am just a ?(starts naming things, but I only understand "a drug dealer")

edit: I just realized the song was added to the myspace site after I wrote this.

The opening is in Latin.

I always wanted to be a catholic
But I was coerced in being a Protestant
(Oh, the light?) to recite the right words I should pray
(") to not have to decide what to wear everyday
But I am just a (snake handler?)--drug dealer

(I'll listen harder tomorrow)

I'm in love with an Irish boy whose penetrating eyes
Peirce my chest and steal my breath

Where I'm from everyone is Catholic
But somehow I was born being a Protestant
All my life, it was meetings in basements in abandoned schools
All my life, it was windowless (something) baron rooms

-- special teachings -- story tellings

I'll try finishing later!!

Lyrics on the main site suddenly.

http://privatethingsyouveconcealed.com/protestant_words.aspx

I Googled the Latin: "O Lord, hear my prayer." (No "Domine Fimus," so I guess there's more than one Latin moment on the record.)

I feel all charged up now. All the new stuff is so good.

Where I'm from everyone is Mormon
But somehow I was born being a Devil Girl
(I personalized the above lyrics for my own enjoyment.)

I'm sooooo happy that she's released a couple songs in the interim while the album is "pending".... the natives were getting restless!
ha.

Protestant

Domine exaudi orationem meam. Domine exaudi orationem meam.

I always wanted to be a Catholic…but, I was cursed in being a Protestant.
Oh the life…to recite the right words I should pray.
Oh the life…to not have to decide what to wear everyday.
But, I am just a snake handler, emotion-as-a-drug dealer, a tv pitch wheeler screamer.
I make it all up as I go. Then, sell it as a video. See Betty at the tape table, tape table.

I’m in love with an Irish boy whose penetrating eyes pierce my chest and steal my breath.

glass sunlight,
place grace upon my tongue.

Domine exaudi orationem meam.

Where I’m from everyone is catholic…but, somehow I was born being protestant.
All my life, it was meetings in basements and abandoned schools.
All my life, it was windowless, sound-baffled, beige, barren rooms.
But, I would see them in the evenings going to their special teachings and hear next-day- storytellings.
This is where the first line’s drawn and you can feel which side you’re on. Still,
robes and smoke leave me in awe, so in awe.

I love an Italian boy with a beatific touch. Place your hands where it’s relevant.

Place your martyr mouth where my mouth shouts.
Place your mosaic mouth where my mouth shouts.

HOT song.... naughty KY.
Hey Chrissy, you were doing pretty good there, you got most of the lyrics right! Go Girl.

Where's the STOP THINKING lyrics? I think those are the only ones missing of the new songs out. Right?

That's what I got. Virgin Mary maybe?

No, I pretty sure it's not. I'm Catholic myself and many of our Latin prayers start off as 'O Domine Jesu Christe' or 'O Lord Jesus Christ'. Domine simply means lord. The beginning states, 'O Lord, hear my prayer.'
