I love Texas. That would be a hike,She's only playing for an hour would it be worth the flight? I mean Alabama isn't exactly party town lol .

Haha, yes. My family gets discount airfare where ever we travel, anyway. It wouldn't be too huge of an expense, but I think it'd be worth it.

It would be great to support her there. I wish there were more "name" bands.

I think another band playing at Edgefest: "Blacktie Dynasty" is from Fort Worth. Chrissy, maybe you can catch a ride with them to Allybammy... HA
They sound a lot like the Cure.

I also found out the Birmingham Airport is only 12 minutes away from Edgefest venue (Matthew's Bar and Grill). So if any of us did decide to fly in instead of driving, the bar is just a cab ride away. Given that there are hotel rooms in that area, it takes the hassle of a rental car out of the picture.

Hahaha! I will ask if I can squeeze in with them. ;)

Mega thanks on the additional info about the airport/venue distance. That helps a bunch. I don't want to rent a car.

Does anyone know why Edgefest isn't up on the front page under "Tour"? Is it just too early yet?

I just read that Embassy Suites are offering a special group rate for anyone going to Edgefest in Birmingham. It's still pretty pricey though. $135 per night.

I just e-mailed them asking if there is any place to stay within walking distance of their venue. I'll update if I hear anything from them!

Oh cool! That sounds like a good deal. I was looking online at other hotels/motels in the area and a lot of them are already booked up! The cheaper ones, anyway. Most of the other places were going from like 140ish to 200, and some weren't as nice looking at the Embassy Suites. For 2 nights there I estimated it to be under 310$. And the ES has free shuttle service to and from the airport and I think it said to anywhere within a 5 mile radius, so that cuts out the rent-a-car problem, I would think.

Man, I want to see her.
