Anyone want to take a stab at lyrics for like, Sing like the Mississippi or Everything is Mine.. ? The ones not on an album, you know.
I think the first line is "I say 'y'all' just like y'all," and I think it's the setup to a punchline, but I can't make that part out.
"I thought this was supposed to be the age of world community."
"All I am is..." and then I lose it until the chorus, which is of course:
"And still you tell me...
SING LIKE THE MISSISSIPPI
Oh" (no idea; something about throwing it down?)
"Dance on the ground that grew ya" (?)
"Man, don't you know just where you're from?"
I have no idea on the second verse before "when I was twelve."
"Like I could reach down past my teeth and retrieve Huck Finn, Injun Joe and a banjo? Don't mind me."
"How can I speak misery when I don't speak my species?" (line thanks to you, Chrissy...)
(chorus...bridge...)
"East Side, West Side, New Orleans. The only East Side you are is of the Atlantic Stream."
I swear the next bit is "display erect the enemy" but have my doubts.
"Now can you say your west side-"
(Some stuff I can't make out, then chorus in different order.)
"-Then get out while you still can run."

Haha, that's most of what I've got, too. Here's some other little bits.
After "I thought this was supposed to be.." (which sounds right to me)
"All I ever saw or heard was that --
and now you tell me.. " Maybe?
Yeah, something about throwing it down, Maybe, "Oh, did he think I'd throw it down"?
"Dance on the ground that grew ya.
Girl, don't you know just where you're from?"
"And thank you for your heartfelt help. You say just be yourself and (something) when I was 12. Like I could reach down past my teeth and retrieve Huck Finn, Injun Joe and a banjo for my knee. How can I speak misery when I don't speak my species? And still you tell me.."
It sounds like "erase the enemy" to me. But of course I'm not sure.
Good job!
